Research On Influencing Factors And Countermeasures Of College Students' Dating Violence

Dating violence is defined as the threat or actual use of physical,sexual,or psychological abuse by one member of an unmarried couple on the other member within the context of a dating relationship.Dating violence of college students has already become an universal social phenomenon,which affected grea tly on adolence both physically and mentally.The study aims at understanding the current situation of dating violence of college students,influencing factors and the interaction between them,providing the basis for accounting for the cause of dating vio lence,and proposing the countermeasures to reduce the rate of dating violence.The study adopts the method of cluster sampling to investigate the current state of dating violence,narcissism,hostile cognition and demographic variables through Narcissistic Personality Inventory of College Students(CSNPI),Chinese College Students' Version of Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire,Chinese Version of Revised Conflict Tactics Scales(CTS2)which were administrated to 326 juniors involved in a dating relationship.It analyzes the differences of dating violence on demographic variables,explores the relationship among narcissism,hostile cognition and dating violence in which are integrated in a mediating effect model,analyzes the interaction mode of narcissism and hostile cognition on dating violence to understand the cause of dating violence.Finally,some educational solutions are put forward to reduce the rate of dating violence on the basis of the research results and the past literature review.The following conclusions could be drawn from the research.(1)In dating violence of college students,the psychological abuse happens at the highest rate,sexual coercion at the lowest rate;As the average number of dating violence,physical assault has the highest average times,sexual coercion has the lowest average times.(2)The average number of three types of dating violence are not significantly correlated with colleges students' nationalities,non-single,parents' education background and family address.While the significant differences of psychological abuse exist in terms of gender,and women were significantly higher than men.(3)Overt narcissism is significantly positively correlated with hostile cognition,physical assault and sexual coercion,covert narcissism and hostile cognition significantly positively correlated with physical assault and psychological abuse,respectively.(4)Hostile cognition mediated the relationships between overt narcissism and psychological abuse fully.Hostile cognition fully mediated the relationships between covert narcissism and physical assault,covert narcissism and psychological abuse,covert narcissism and sexual coercion,respectively.(5)To reduce the rate of dating violence,it can be reducing the hostile cognition and strengthening dating education of college students.
