There are currently a number of important cultural heritage sites facing the risk of natural disasters.These risks for the destruction of heritage sites are very serious.Thereinto,the risk of deterioration of heritage is also one of natural risk types.Deterioration risk for cultural heritage sites is a special type.And the risk of deterioration is varied and single risk also contains many properties,such as name,spatial information,possibility,loss and so on.The data used to analyze the risk of deterioration is high-dimensional,diverse and mixed.Heritage protectors and managers are trying to combine risk management methods with information technology approach to reduce such risks.In risk management theory,risk analysis is an important step in the risk assessment of risk management process.While the complexity of deterioration risk will bring many new challenges to risk analysis.How to combine risk management theory with visual analysis technology is the focus of this work.To the main purpose of risk analysis,this paper presents a visual analysis approach with correlating spatial information to assess the risk of deterioration.When designing the visual expression,abstracts the cave,keep constant of relative position between the caves,use visual design elements on the various dimensions of the cave to encode.It makes the results more readable by the visual design of Mogao Ortho Pictured background,and more convenient for heritage protectors and managers to find patterns by background of geographic information.The spatial view design of deterioration risk allows users to accelerated discover distribution model in each deterioration risk.For diseases like Disruption,Flakinng,Blister,Detachment,choosing single-level cave shows a single disease risk,selecting single-level cave shows a variety of disease risks,selecting multi-level cave displays a variety of disease risk.Show all the filtered caves according to the severity of deterioration and show all the filtered caves of deterioration disease according to dynasties.In order to facilitate user explore caves,utilize the focus-context technology to enlarge the region user interested to the proper amplification and panoramic analysis technique to show marked deterioration disease of single cave.The algorithm based on clustering can quantify the level of disease.And this paper also proposed a visual analysis method as rating analysis of risk.Through the above visual analysis,users can discover and explore the distribution pattern of disease in the caves,find the relationship between diseases.This work can help users explore the similarity within the microenvironment of the cave through the distribution of disease and extent of the deterioration,and find the factors causing deterioration disease by comparative analysis.These conclusions for heritage conservation and sustainable development provides important help.
