Research On Application Of Color Elements In Bulgari Jewelry

The color in jewelry design is the first impression of the visual perception of a piece of jewelry,in the whole process of jewelry design,it has an indispensable important position in the shape and quality of the jewelry.The use of color needs to have certain theoretical basis and method,and cannot be designed by the feeling of oneself alone.The Italian jewelry brand-Bulgari is showing its strong brand vitality with the help of unique application of color elements.Thus,this paper studied and analyzed the application and expression of color elements of Bulgari jewelry by means of analysis,contrast and induction.Influenced by a variety of internal and external factors,Bulgari color style features show differentiation in different periods,the performance on jewelry color application is a transformation process from single and conservative to bold and rich.The methods and features of the color design of Bulgari have experienced three stages: from imitation to characteristic innovation,from characteristic innovation to re-innovation of maintaining features.In the design,Bulgari makes no difference between the use of various kinds of precious stones,and according to the number of colors of the stones to use different color collocation method.The basic principle is based on the richness and uniformity of color,factors related to jewelry appearance such as the combination and permutation of material color,modeling structure,cutting method would be stressed or weakening according to the requirements.In modelling,it is given priority to the abstraction modelling.The designer is subjective to remove the redundant adornment in modelling and preserve the clear and simple outline.Filling in blanks with a variety of color gems in the outline,it is not only retain the theme of the identification of features,but also make the material color be fully demonstrated,and Bulgari's unique way of material layout ensures the filled color is rich but not chaotic,as well as producing a more vivid sense of rhythm of works.Stone material is often cut into various shapes of curve based on the needs of different theme modelling,which including rounded cut,chestnut type cutting,peacock type cutting,etc.These polished but not carved gems diminish the eye's attention to the dazzling brilliance of the facetedgems and focus more on the color itself.The color conflict between different kinds of color of different color is weakened and the overall transition is softer and harmonious.In short,this paper elaborates the evolution of the Bulgari color elements and the representative jewelry in different period,specifies the importance of color elements usage in its brand development,further explores some methods and characteristics of the Bulgari color elements application.This paper explores the color elements and the relationship between them from three aspects of material,modelling,process,tease out the concrete manifestation of uniqueness of Bulgari color gradually and hope to provide some reference for the jewelry design.
