One Study Of The Mythology Of Ding Shan

Mythology is becoming a more and more important subject in the ancient Chinese literature and culture field now.So there are more and more mythologists who are studying it at present.Out of all of these mythologists,Ding Shan maybe was not the most popular one,but with all his hard working,still he had made some achievements which were quite unique in mythology.Because Ding Shan tried different fields in his academic research,before he focused on mythology,he also studied a lot about philology and phonology,besides,he also tied very hardly in the study of inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells of the Shang Dynasty and also of inscriptions on ancient bronze objects,and he had made great achievements.Normally,most of the research about Ding Shan were focused on his whole research,but as people started to know more about him,some people started to emphasize only one aspect of his research.My paper ‘One study of the mythology of Ding Shan' focuses on his study of mythology.I will try to pay more attention to the details of Ding Shan's research of mythology,and then summarize the creativity and characters of his study in mythology.This article is mainly divided into three chapters:In the first chapter,this paper points out our mythology research of names and images which are divided into three categories: First,I will inspect the mythical figure and image,such as the discussion of the myth of the god of wind image;Second,I am going to pay attention to the research of female myth figures such as Jiang Yuan,Jane Di,and at the same time,I will pay attention to the translocation phenomenon of female myth image and male image of Yin and Yang;Third,I am going to analyze several myth images of invention and to see the difference of the original owners of these invention,at the same time,reveals how did the real history exactly changed into the myth.In the second chapter,first of all I am going to discuss some images of myth which are associated with the title of ‘King',and then analyze the reason of the orderof the related images of ‘King';Second,with "three kings","five emperors",for example,I will discuss about the myth characters in king lineages parsing,it is also one of the most important aspect in our mythology research,because it is based on how to review the relationship between the myths and history.In the third chapter,first of all,I am going to illustrate how does the foreign culture,especially the ancient Indian culture influence on Chinese ancient myth;Secondly,I am going to explore the relationship between religious sacrifice and the Chinese ancient myths;At last,I am going the summarize Ding Shan's study on the whole,and tell his study by the good side and bad side at the same time,I appreciate Ding Shan's courage in academic and also analyze his insufficiency in the process of our mythology research.
