A Study On The Interpretation And Presentation System Planning Of Archaeological Sites

Interpretation and presentation system planning of archaeological site,one of important measures to protect and promote archaeological sites in recent years,is vital in revealing the value of a site as cultural heritage,presenting the cultural connotation of a site,developing public archaeology and achieving sustainable development and utilization.However,the interpretation and exhibition system planning of archaeological site in our country is still developing,the concept is immature and the frame is defective;meanwhile,it is obvious that development of economy is accelerating,the land contradiction is tenser.Considering the situation above,it is necessary to improve the frame and content of the interpretation and exhibition system planning of archaeological site,and this study is going to take Daxinzhuan Site and Yingcheng Site as two case studies to illustrate this issue.Chapter 1 is introduction,which will present the background and origin of the research question,make definitions of research objects,and review the sturdy history.Chapter 2 will summarize the concepts and theories from international charters,public archaeology and domestic system planning,and analyze domestic cases regarding system planning.Chapter 3,Chapter 4,and Chapter 5 will describe the case studies of Daxinzhuang Site and Yingcheng Site of their framework,content and research approach,and make contrast and comparison between the two cases.Finally,the last chapter will make summarize,conclusion and pointing out the direction of future studies.The study of the interpretation and exhibition system planning of archaeological site if the focal point of this study.Based on the concepts from international charters,public archaeology and domestic system planning,this study has established a framework suitable for our domestic situation which consist of exhibiting aims,object,interpretation and exhibition system planning,and interpretation and exhibition structures.Meanwhile,this framework is free to be combined with the actual situation of a site.The final planning of a site should be considered from academic studies,value interpretation and situation analysis(the situation of the site itself,the environment,the region and the society)and government requirements and legal documents and so on.The aim of this study is to present references for other site planning,decrease the defect in official documents and promote the utilization of archaeological site as well as historical and cultural heritages under government protect.At the same time this study will offer a new research approach and angle for the study of interpretation and exhibition system planning,public archaeology.
