On Confucius's Reformation Of The Filial Piety Thought Of Western Zhou Dynasty

The filial piety thought has a long history,although it suffered a lot in the history of thousands years,it never be interrupted in the intellectual history,on the contrary,it becomes an important part of Chinese ethical and moral concept.The object of filial piety before Confucius has experienced the change from god,ancestor and forefather,living parents have not been taken into the object of filial piety until late Western Zhou Dynasty.Confucius inherited and developed the West Zhou Dynasty's filial piety,he stressed the relationship between "Ren" and "Li" and "filial piety",and attempt to find a more rational basis for "filial piety".On Confucius's filial piety,he makes living parents as the main object of "filial piety",makes "treat parents well" as the main way of "filial piety",he enrich the connotation of filial piety,and promote the big change of the West Zhou's filial piety thought.In this paper,I discuss the important change mainly from the following four aspects:1.The formation time and concrete connotation of filial piety concept.Collecting and reorganizing the record about filial piety in ancient documents,then analyzing the formation time and concrete content of filial piety concept comprehensively based on relative historical materials and corresponding social background.2.Investigate the connotation of the Western Zhou Dynasty's filial piety thought.Taking economic factors,political factors and ideological cultural factors as backgrounds,analyzing the development of filial piety before the Western Zhou Dynasty,and expounding emphatically on the filial piety connotation in the Western Zhou Dynasty.3.Discuss Confucius's filial piety thought.Taking economic development,political revolution and the development in the field of ideology and culture as backgrounds,and expounding emphatically on the connotation of Confucius's filial piety.4.Discuss Confucius' s reformation to the filial piety thought of the Western Zhou Dynasty.Finding the big difference between Confucius's filial piety thought and the Western Zhou Dynasty's filial piety thought by comparing them,and analyze the reason,so as to make sure the important significance of Confucius's filial piety thought transformation in the history of Confucianism,and this is the key point of this paper.
