Middle school students are in the adolescent period,and their psychological is conflict,easily outbreak of aggression,which is harmful to individuals,families,schools and society.In recent years,more and more researchers pay attention to aggressive behavior.And the link between self-esteem and aggression is the focus in the psychology research,whether high or low self-esteem is associated with increased aggression remains a topic of debate.In the present research,participants were 529 senior high school students.Self-esteem was measured with Rosenberg's Self-Esteem scale,forgiveness with Heartland Forgive scale,and aggression was measured with Buss-Perry's Aggression questioner.Which explore the relationship among self-esteem,forgiveness and aggression.The results were as follows:(1)On self-esteem,different gender and grade students did not show significant difference;The self-esteem of one-child were significantly higher than non-child;And the self-esteem of high family income was significantly higher than middle and low family income.(2)Senior school students' forgiveness of self,forgiveness in gender,grade,one-child or non-child and family income did not show significant difference.But on interpersonal forgiveness,Senior One Students were significantly higher than interpersonal forgiveness.(3)On physical aggression,senior boys were significantly higher than girls,but on anger,the opposite occurs;And one-child's anger was significantly higher than non-child;And low family income 's anger was significantly higher than middle and high family income,but low family income's hostility,aggressive behavior were only significantly higher than high family income senior students.(4)Self-esteem and forgiveness was significant negatively related to aggression,indicating that low self-esteem and forgiveness do sufficiently explain high aggression behavior.(5)Self-esteem was significant positively related to forgiveness,indicating that high self-esteem does sufficiently explain high forgiveness in middle school students.(6)Forgiveness had an impact on self-esteem and aggression,and it was played an intermediary role in the relationship between self-esteem and aggression.
