Focusing on the phenomenon of miscellaneous forms in stele scripts in regular style of Sui Dynasty,this paper counts and classifies the miscellaneous forms in stele scripts in regular style of Sui Dynasty and explores its rule of law and motives.Then based on the statistics of the mainstream exhibition works of contemporary calligraphy creation,the author analyzes the phenomenon of miscellaneous forms in contemporary calligraphy creation and its choice types,and examines the approaches of choice of miscellaneous forms in contemporary regular script creation from stele scripts of Sui Dynasty.The core tie between the two is "miscellaneous forms",an artistic language.The recognition of the phenomenon of miscellaneous forms is interpreted from the following two perspectives:first,from the perspective of font evaluation in philology,across-lingostyle application certainly exists,and then the two coexist in most cases;second,from the creativity of calligraphy aesthetics,the mixed use of various forms is made on purpose and an expressive type in calligraphy creation.Another important stance of this paper is the stance created by calligraphy aesthetics.That is to say,with Collected writings of the new literature and art of China:Collected Works of Chinese Calligraphy and previous "international exhibitions" as the cores,the author examines some excellent works of contemporary calligraphy creation in miscellaneous forms,provides a thought on new method of contemporary calligraphy creation based on the"retro" style of miscellaneous forms,expands the current methods of contemporary calligraphy creation,and provide reference for the present calligraphy creation.
