The regular script began in the Han turns into the Wei dynasty, and its formation brought the Chinese characters to a latest stage.Because it is easy to use and is very popular with people,so it is still popular today. The Tang dynasty was an important period for the development and finalize the design of regular script. It basically laid the institutional structure of modern Chinese characters. Therefore,we must pay attention to the regular script of the Tang when studying this text. The importance of the Tang regular script is also reflected in the Tang dynasty was an epoch of consciously regulating the script. And the epitaph of the Tang dynasty can just provide a lot of real and reliable materials for the study.Consequently, the study on the regular script in the epitaph of the Tang dynasty will become an indispensable part of the study of the development history of Chinese characters.Words will undergo variability in the evolution of time, and various variations will also occur in the process of writing and writing in the same period. At this time, the meaning of literary normative work will be reflected. In the Tang dynasty, the work of writing standardization was generally in the early stage of middle Tang dynasty,so the regular script character forms in the middle and late Tang dynasty was an important carrier to study the standardization of regular script. In a certain extent, the large-scale implementation of the literal specification work will regulate the randomness of people's use of text, and the level of cultural hierarchy may also reflect the difference in the degree of textual standardization.Based on this,we take the script of the epitaph of the middle and late Tang dynasty as the research object, and make a comprehensive and systematic investigation of the actual use of the characters in this stage by using various methods such as description and induction, data statistics, contrast analysis and mutual examination,to summarize out the inheritance and variation rules of regular script to finalize the design process, and enrich the research contents of the development history of Chinese characters. The research content is mainly divided into five major parts. On the basis of understanding the overall use of the epitaph characters in the middle and late Tang dynasty, starting with the view of the formation of Chinese characters, classifies the irregular characters of the epitaph in the middle and late Tang dynasty, and sums up the general characteristics and origins of the irregular characters.By contrasting with the contemporary book of words, explores the factors identified by the normative principles and the influence and effectiveness of the standardized work after its implementation. Finally,a brief discussion is made on several related issues to make an open extension of the whole research. The results of the general survey indicate that the style of regular script in the middle and late Tang dynasty tends to be stable, but it is still quite changeable in the form structure, and it is very irregular in use. There are many kinds of heteromorphic characters, and the type is complex.Stratified research shows that the level of cultural hierarchy may not have obvious influence on the social use of words at that time.According to the comparative study,it is concluded that the folk and common characters of the Ganlu Zishu are summarized according to the actual words of the society at that time, and its standard words are not dependent on the situation of social use.The confusion and diversity of social characters also reflect the fact that the standardized work of the text was not yet significant.Although the number of heteromorphic words has not been effectively controlled, from the perspective of the configuration basis of irregular characters, the constructional motives of most of the characters are identifiable and the meaning can be explained.
