In some specific period,collecting the characters that don't have the radicals,this is Zabu.Zabu appeared in the Tang Dynasty for the first time.And they disappeared in<Zi Hui>in Ming Dynasty.The formation and disappearance of the Zabu is the necessary period for the development of the dictionary.But the former scholars paid tiny attention to Zabu.The paper studied Zabu which appeared in the history from their formation,development to disappearance and the reason systematically.The paper includes the main body and the appendix.There are seven chapters in the main body including the Introduction.The third,the fourth and the fifth chapter is the emphasis.The third chapter is about how the Zabu formed.And we compare the Zabu that comes from different dictionaries to find which appeared frequently.In the fourth chapter we looked up some important dictionaries to find out why they could digest the Zabu.The fifth chapter researches the reasons that the Zabu disappeared from the rule that Chinese characters develops to the history background.There are three parts in the appendix.The frst one is about the Zabu that comes from<Shuo Wen Jie Zi>.And the second one is about which character radical the Zabu that is used frequently belongs to in some important dictionaries.The last one is about which character radical the Zabu that is hardly used belongs to in some important dictionaries.The paper discovers that there are 33.4%in the Zabu that comes from<Shuo Wen Jie Zi>.The reduce of the character radicals,the change of the Chinese character and the production of the new Chinese character caused the formation of the Zabu together.The<Zi Hui>put forward that we should identify the character radical according to the shape of the Chinese character for the first time.Then the<Han Yu Da Zi Dian>also made great efforts in this way.And this principle realized by the New<Ci Hai>at last.The identifying of the character radicals is more standard in the<GB 13000.1 chart of the identifying of the character radicals>.The establishment and the place of the character radical,and the order of the character radicals' identifying are becoming more and more scientific.This is how normative that Zabu changed.What's more,we discovered that identify the character radicals according to the character pattern is a trend.And this conclusion provide the principles that choosing the character radicals some evidences.The rule of the Chinese characters develops along with the history background made the Zabu disappear.
