Study On Music And Play Of Song Cycle With The Name Of "Love And Life Of Women"

The vocal suite with the name of “Love and Life of Women”is the classical artistic songs of Robert Schumann,the romantic composer in Germany.Seen from the complete and consistent plot of this song and development for the depicted depth and psychological change of figures,this song is considered as one representative works of Schumann.A fundamental understanding is attained by describing Schumann's life,his creation characteristic and his creation intention for the cycle.Furthermore,the reference is provided for the background regarding in analysis on the music and play later.As for analysis for music,this paper focuses on characteristic of artistic song and studies the lyric,melody and piano accompaniment as a whole,connects music development and the plot trend and reflects various mood with music including shyness in the first love,happiness in the wedding and the sadness in the spouses loss.In the aspect of play and explanation,this paper firstly makes detailed description for the emotion treatment of eight songs,e.g how to deal with emotional turn,what is the connection between song identification and emotional performance,etc.Then systematic analysis is done for the singing treatment of eight songs to describe how to completely and fully express the mood,intension and spirit in singing from the intensity and tone.The song content has four stages: unrequited love,marriage,pregnancy,and part forever.At different development stage,the protagonist's mood and expressed spirit are completely different which shall be treated for the tone and intensity with different music content in the comparison method.This paper is regarded as a staged summary for my study and singing this works.By studying this works,my understanding for artistic songs has been improved to a new level,enabling me to have sufficient mastery for singing artistic songs particularly this works.I hope that exploration and study for “Love and Life of Women”could provide some help and reference to vocal music lovers.
