Caused By The Gradual Accumulation:the Study Of The Image Of Henan During The Period Of Beiyang Government

The dwarfed image of Henan is not only a practical subject,but also it is a historical subject.The image of Henan is a dynamic concept,which keeps changing with the development of the economy and the society.It experienced both a glorious period before the Southern Song Dynasty,and a gradual period from the Southern Song Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty.Since modern times,the image of Henan began to evolve severely,and showed the periodic evolution characteristics.It can be roughly divided into the following several times: the declining times in the Late Qing Dynasty,the dramatically dwarfed times during the sixteen years of Beiyang Government,the 10-year "governance and non-governance" times during the period of Nanjing National Government,the rising times during the whole nation’s Anti-Japanese War,the left-leaning,forward-leaping,and good-example times since the foundation of the PRC,and the demonized,rising and central-plain times since the great reform and opening.This paper introduces the general trend of the image evolution of Henan and its modern periodic evolution,which gives us an overall cognition firstly.This paper is intended to begin the topic with the strengthened conception of provincial areas and the flooding home love,and make us understand the influence of the conceptions of different areas in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic period.This paper is aimed to comb the crux of the dwarfed image of Henan during the period of Beiyang Government from the following several aspects: the deformed image of Henan in the situation of revolutionary and political appeals,the image of Henan which just like a poor kingdom full of wars and banditry and the backward economy,and the image of Henan which followed with the declining central culture and the remained servility and ignorance under the perspective of the feudal society.Further the paper is extended and promoted from studying of the "regional" image to the "people" image of Henan,and it is also to study the image of Henan and the people from Henan under different perspectives.I intend to use an method which makes one-case study combine with general history researches,treating the book Travels as one case,analyzing the image of Henan writing on this book,and peeping the image in current situation from it.It makes the reader dialectically view this topic on exploring the pros and cons under the dual perspectives between advance and backward.This paper also intends to discuss the efforts to abolish the concept of the province areas,refresh Henan and revitalize Henan during the period of Beiyang Government.And it also tries to understand people’s efforts and the limited current situation.Finally,I intend to extend the topic on the image of Henan during the period of Beiyang Government,and explore the image of Henan under the dual perspectives between the history and the reality.At the same time,I shall also pay some attention to the study and the trend of the history of image.Its historical transmutation must be certified before reshaping the image of Henan.To some extent,the dwarfed image of Henan today is an accumulation of the history.We can’t reshape the image of Henan without figuring out its historical evolution.The meaning of history is taking the last as a lesson,meeting the requirements of the new era,exploring the truth of the old history,and achieving a practical investigation.Basing on this,I shall analyzes the historical evolution of the dwarfing image of Henan in the historical dimension,and explore the root of its gradual dwarf.All in all,taking history as a mirror could do some good to the reshaping of the image of Henan.
