As it came into the latter half of nineteenth century,the situation in Northeast Asia fluctuated,forming the situation of Western force gradually going to the East.With the decline of the late Qing Dynasty,China's dominant power in East Asia gradually lost.Since Meiji Restoration was implemented in Japan,imitating western system,Japan became the first modern capitalist country in Northeast.It utilized various kinds of means trying to despoil the dominant force from China.In the situation that such kind of large revolution appeared in international background,"Imo Incident" broke out in Korea in 1882.This was a spontaneous popular uprising caused taking that Korean old type army was unsatisfied with the ruling class as the blasting fuse.However,due to the chaos of Korean internal affairs and aggression of Japan since Treaty of Ganghwado Island,there were a lot of contradictions hidden in all levels of Korean society.In this kind of situation,the outbreak of '"Imo Incident"impacted the ruling order of Korean feudal dynasty.Taking it as an excuse,Japan expanded aggression to Korea and further repelled the suzerainty of China in Korea.China then sensed the challenge from Japan and began to adopt comprehensive interference in Korea to solidify its suzerainty.Hence,the challenge of Japan to China in Korean suzerainty as well as the interference policy conducted by China to solidify its special right in Korea had intensified the interest conflict of both countries in Korea,causing further upgrade of the contradiction.In the angle of external relations,the period of "Imo Incident" was the critical period that the contradiction between China and Japan became apparent.
