The Influence Of College Students' Social Anxiety On Mobile Phone Dependence: The Mediating Role Of Social Support

With the help of advancement in science and technology,people in modern world have more access to mobile phone,while we can't avoid confirming that modern men have troubled by it,especially college students.Therefore,the study on mobile phone is necessary.Besides,related literates had studied the performance,the current situation and the disadvantages of mobile phone,while they didn't focus on the forming mechanism of mobile phone.However,social anxiety and social support are both important to mobile phone dependence.Therefore,we should put them together and try to do further study on the mobile phone.This paper mainly used three questionnaires,which are MPATS,IAS and SSRS.The questionnaires were conducted by 423 college students in Hunan Province.Besides,those students concluded 212 males and 211 females which are chosen randomly from freshman year to senior year.The major results were:(1)For college students of different genders,different grades and different majors,there was significant difference in the overall scores and other dimensions of mobile phone dependence;while there was no significant difference between mobile phone dependence and whether theparticipants are leaders or not,whether the participants are only one-child in their family or not,whether their house are in cities or not.(2)There were significant correlations among social anxiety and mobile phone dependence.(3)Study showed a significant negative correlation between social support and mobile phone dependence.(4)There were significant correlations among social anxiety and the social support in their overalls and the dimension of subjective support and using of support,but not in the dimension of objective support.(5)Resilience plays a partial mediating role between social anxiety and mobile phone dependence.
