In recent several decades,cities are gradually becoming the main objects of China's filmdom.Nevertheless,Chongqing,an inland city,showed the less advance,comparing with the previous contemporary cities such as Hong Kong,Beijing and Shanghai.The increasingly accelerated process of urbanization of China enables Chongqing to turn into the most representative modern city in China,which engages the large number of film directors to produce films in relation to Chongqing.Chongqing have harmoniously blended its unique geographic location and modern elements.It thus creates an emerging film catalogue which is totally different from the mainstream film style.The image of Chongqing urban films records the high progress of Chongqing's urbanization in multiple ways,which fills the images of China's urbanization.It thus has realistic significance to the constructing and spreading the Chongqing's regional culture or analyzing the semiotics system in relation to Chongqing.‘Chongqing' occupies a tremendously important place in the urban film whether it be regarded as the objective object of image's presenting or the background story of film text.Concentrating on Chongqing-related films since the new period,the ‘urban image' has different presenting in different degrees.In the original purpose,urban images were simply used as background stories to record the urban form and structure.However,in present,the ‘city' becomes the main object.These changes witnessed the importance of constructing urban images,and Chongqing are gradually becoming the emerging film city.From the new period,the Chongqing images seem independent but actually relational to each other: ‘the red provisional capital' with a strongpolitical color,‘the fashion city' with modern temperament,‘citizen culture' with the vive atmosphere of life.Narrative space of films are carriers of film texts.The Chongqing image establishes the multi-narrative space such as the heterotopia,low culture space and desire space which promotes the development of plot.The audio landscape extends the urban space,from which the beatific modern life has been described.The urban films,in otherwise,further arouses emotional resonances from the public via portraying the different urban images of citizens.In the context of city,the space,voice and people integrate to each other,from which an ample,multiple picture of Chongqing society has been described.Analyzing Chongqing's strategies of image's narratives,and deep cultural meaning,reflecting the worldly tale made by both the city and citizens,provide us a unique angle to recognize the Chongqing's urban culture and research the relationship between the city and film.The Chongqing images have shown the strong implication of the Bayu's culture composed with the Pao Ge culture,dock culture and hot pot culture.It,therefore,creates distinctive characteristics of the city,and contains profound cultural meaning.To avoid the identity,inflexibility and inanition,shape the multiple Chongqing images and rationally critique the presenting of Chongqing images in domestic films since the new period.Authors could actively guide the construction of Chongqing urban images from emphasizing the description of distinctive images and enriching the Chongqing's screen images;digging out the character of urban image and reflecting Chongqing's images in multiple ways;deepening the connotation of Ba-Shu culture and enhancing the Chongqing's urban image.
