With the vigorous development of smart phones and other smart mobile devices,The intelligence and interactivity of smartphones has also been further improved,The touch screen smart phone with Graphical interface occupies the vast majority of smart phones market,Application software is increasingly rich and interacts with users on the interface by icons,but,At present,the design and use of smart phone icons is quite chaotic in the market.The visual interaction designer pursues the diversity and personalization of icons at the expense of low recognition performance.Based on this,this paper takes the system icons of smart phone as the object of study,This paper studies the recognition process of icons and their perceptual influencing factors,In order to reveal the effect mechanism of each perceptual factor on icons recognition performance.In this paper,some related theories,such as symbol concept,symbol cognitive model and Factors affecting Icon Recognition,are systematically combed,moreover,on the basis of this,we use the method of empirical research to explore the recognition process of symbols and their perceptual influencing factors.Firstly,four perceptual factors,including familiarity,visual complexity,concreteness and semantic distance,are assessed,The researchers used online evaluation methods to evaluate the perceptual factors of 77 selected smart phone system icons,then,data analysis software was used to analyze the correlation among different perceptual factors,finally,we get the perceptual factor value of smart phone system icons and the correlation between each factor.Secondly,this paper explores the perceptual factors that influence the recognition performance of icons and the mechanism of each perceptual factor affecting the recognition of characters by icons naming experiments,after the naming experiments of 33 subjects,the researchers obtained the response times,accuracy,and naming consistency values of the 77 system icons,and the correct response time is used as the basis for identifying the performance indicators,and the grades of the icons with the same functional meanings are classified,in addition,the correlation between familiarity,visual complexity,concreteness,semantic distance,conceptual consistency and H value was obtained by means of data analysis.The correlation between the 6 factors and reaction time was obtained,on this basis,a stepwise regression method is used to construct a linear regression equation for predicting the response time.Thirdly,in this paper,the semantic matching tasks are used to judge whether the feature extraction and semantic matching are symmetrical in the process of identifying different background patterns,based on the two indices of familiarity and concreteness,the researcher identifies 13 experimental icons from the alternative icons,the experimental results were obtained by using the two factor semantic matching experiment of 2 factors(start pattern:icons and words start mode,words and icons start mode)and X 2(semantic matching relation:match and mismatch),it is found that there are different degrees of priming effects in the two modes of pattern recognition,and,the icons recognition is asymmetry in the two boot mode backgrounds.In this paper,three aspects are studied,which are the perceptual factor evaluation,the icons naming experiment and the semantic matching experiment,each study analyzes deeply the influence of perceptual factors on the performance of icons recognition.The research conclusion has certain reference value to the design and application of the icons,it also has important practical significance to improve the interactive effects and enhance the user experience.
