Yang Yide Research

It is of great significance to study the interaction between the local governments and people in the period of Beiyang,and further to deepen the study of Yang Yide by putting this personal historical activities under the macro historical background and studying from the perspective of Tianjin's social governance in period of Beiyang.In addition to the rental area,Tianjin is the earliest area that establishes modern police system in China.In the process of social transformation in Tianjin,as the chief of the police Yang Yide actively promotes the construction of police to make the work increasingly standardized.Yang Yide also plays an active part in the process of modernization of city by eradicating social customs and improving social atmosphere.In 1917,a very serious flood stuck this area.It is urgent to stabilize the feelings of the victims and deal with the aftermath work properly so as to maintain the social stability.Under the guidance of Yang Yide,the post-disaster relief work was smoothing carried out.The establishment of Tianjin flood relief and the advocation of work for food on the one hand protected the social satbilty and on the other hand made great contributions to the development of the charity work.The police are the backbone of social governance and the powerful tool for the government to conduct social control.In the May Fourth Movement and Tangshan workers strike movement,Yang Yide took active part in the execution of the government instruction and the suppression of the movements of students and workers.He played an important role in a series of social events,which is still denounced by future generations.In this paper through the study of Beiyang governmance stuation.In Tianjin and the interaction between the police and the public society,the thesis analyces YangYide's merits and demerits.
