The Research Of The Police Images In Contemporary Police Literature

The contemporary police literature is a kind of subject which is symbiotic with new China, and its distinctive subject style and unique aesthetic value make itself become an inseparable part of Chinese contemporary literature. Across the sixty years' development of police novels, it grew out of nothing, from a single spark in the 1950s to the present flouring scene and these wonderful achievements indeed make us happy. The key characters in it also change with time. From perfect figures in political universal time to disappearance of its divinity and recurrence of nature of human in the late 1970s, from secularization tendency in the late 1980s to the mid 1990s after when the heroism is re-valued. The police image in contemporary literary circle becomes more and more attractive. Of course, the changes of police images in the contemporary police novels is not occasional but from a variety of reasons. First, it is influenced by the external social environment and the law of literature itself. Also, readers in different periods play a major role. Basing on a systematic analysis of the changes and reasons of contemporary police images, I will do further study in the police image field. The study includes the comparison about the police images and the detective images, and the comparison about different police images written by different writers, etc. I hope that readers can have a more comprehensive and complete understanding about contemporary police image.Although police novels have made remarkable achievements, it is still behind the overall level of contemporary literature. As far as the portrayal of characters, it is still short of the true classic police image. There are still a wide variety of shortcomings on the portrayal of police images. For instance, it lays emphasis on characters sociality but ignores the aesthetic values, and the characters are too formulaic and dogmatic. Even writers attach so much importance to the story, but they neglect the designment of characters. Literature is an area where the classic images should be and can be produced, so the police literature workers should broad their horizons, emancipate their mind and carry on both the practice and theory constantly to find the new aesthetic appeal about the police image designment. Try to seek progress in this field in a light of development and build the world-class, classic police images that possess both individuality expression and public security features.
