The original text belongs to the report text.The main content is about the United Nations programmes to promote youth development.The main purpose is to pass information to the audience.The content of the original text includes large amount of information and the professionalism is obvious.In terms of language style,the use of vocabulary is rigorous and large amount of long and difficult sentences are used;on the structure of the text,the complete structure and the natural convergence are necessary.As for the transmission of text information,it is necessary to consider the acceptability of the reader.The report text is authoritative and should be solemn and serious,so it is necessary to use standardized language.The original text was selected from the United Nations online report on youth,entitled "UN Programs on Youth",which was released in September 2013.Based on the whole content of the report,the author makes a translation practice.The report is divided into four chapters.Chapter One is the introduction to the translation task,and makes a concrete analysis of the current situation of the research on the youth at home and abroad.Chapter Two analyzes the processes of preparation,the translation and proofreading.Chapter Three makes a case study on the following aspects: the translation of the title,wording emphasizes appealing,marking the noun with quotation marks and domesticating translation of predicate and object and the reconstruction of the paragraph in a logical form.Since the original text contains a large number of titles,the title of the language requires concise,unified format,so the title of the translation is important.Choosing appealing words is the difficulty of translation.Because,only using written language infected readers needs a strong language.The difference between Chinese and English brings difficulties to translation.Chapter Four summarizes the translation practice and analyzes the experience and lessons of translation,and explains the unsolved questions.
