The source text was selected from the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund(UNICEF for short)annual report on children,entitled “UNICEF ANNUAL REPORT 2016”,which was released in June 2017.The main content is about the significant results achieved by UNICEF and its partners in 2016 on behalf of children around the world.The source text belongs to the report text.The main purpose is to convey information to the target audience objectively.The content of the source text includes large amount of information and is professional.In terms of language style,the use of vocabulary is precise and a large number of long and difficult sentences are used;on the structure of the text,the complete structure and the natural cohesion are necessary.As for the transmission of text information,it is necessary to consider the acceptability of the target audience.The report text is authoritative and should be solemn and serious,so it is necessary to use standardized language.Based on the content of the source report,the author makes a translation practice.During the translation process,the author makes use of the reader's response theory.After analyzing the reader's response,the translation has been improved.The translation practice report is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is the introduction to the translation task,and makes a concrete analysis of the current situation of the children welfare in China and the source text.Chapter two analyzes the processes of preparation,translation and proofreading.Chapter three makes a case study on five aspects: the translation of the introduction,the translation of the title,the choice of words,the translation of the chart and data and the translation of sentences.Chapter four analyzes the experience and explains the shortcomings of translation,as well as involves the future development of translation.
