The books having spread around the world, such as Shiji,Hanshu,Houhanshu,Sanguozhi, have recorded the height of the ancients. The bamboo material during Qin,Han Dynasties and the Three Kingdoms period, such as Liye Bamboo Slips of Qin Dynasty,Shuihudi bamboo Slips of Qin Dynasty,Zhangjiashan Bamboo Slips of Han Dynasty,Juyan Bamboo Strips of the Han Dynasty,Juyan New Bamboo Strips of the Han Dynasty,Jianshuijinguan Bamboo Strips of the Han Dynasty,Changsha Zoumalou Bamboo Strips of the Wu Dynasty Kingdom etc, more or less record the height of the ancients. However, due to the different purposes of writing and the different identity of authors, the two kinds of documents show different characteristics. With the support of modern anthropology research and archaeological materials,it can be reflected that the ancients' height of the bamboo slips recorded more close to the modern man's height. From ancient times to the present, height and age is the most intuitive description of people.Due to different historical conditions, some bamboo slips record more information about height while some bamboo slips record more information about age.The reason lies in the transformation of standard being an adult and the standard of the age of corvee labor.During the period of Qin?Han Dynasties and the Three Kingdoms period,it was the transition period of the standard of the age of corvee labor from the height to the age.
