Chang Qu's HuaYangGuoZhi is the earliest extant local chronicles in China,it records the history,geography and customs of the(Sichuan,Yunnan,Guizhou,Gansu,Shaanxi and Hubei provinces)before the Eastern Jin Dynasty.And it retains a large number of detailed and reliable records.The approach of the dissertation is divided into four parts,the first part is an introduction,mainly introduce the background of selected topics,HuaYangGuoZhi research status and research methods.The second part is the author and style of HuaYangGuoZhi,The reason of why Chang Qu write this book has a close relationship with the author's experience.Chang Qu use the "Zhi" and "biography" of the combination of writing methods,the later local chronicles more "Zhi" named is also inherited from the HuaYangGuoZhi.Its regional aspects have a very significant characteristics and value.The third part is the second chapter is the figures in "the first four records" and "the geographical department" during Han dynasty and Three Kingdoms period.HuaYangGuoZhi inherited some contents of the Hanshu and Sanguozhi,but it also added a lot of the details of the facts for Liu Bei,Cao Cao,Zhuge Liang and other figures to shape the foundation.The last part is the third chapter,it probes into the historiography and philology values of figures in HuaYangGuoZhi during Han dynasty and Three Kingdoms period.It records a large number of the people in Huayang region,including the first-hand literature,which provides us with rich information about the figures,customs,officials of the Southwest of China.Especially the record of women in Yi,Liang and Ning states,To made biography for the three states' women shows the unique historical perspective of Chang Qu.To put men and women together also shows his advanced historical perspective.The selection of ordinary female into the biography also embodies the Chang Qu's unique standards of selection.The future of the biography of women has a far-reaching impact in China.
