Study On Habermas' Public Sphere Theoretical And Its Significance To China

Public sphere theory,being a very important thought in modern western philosophy,is a crucial part in academic exploration of Habermas.According to the academic study of this important thought of Habermas in our country,the scholars are focused on the Habermas' early book Structural Transformation of the Public sphere.In fact,there are,however,splendid studies about Public sphere theory in Habermas' other books.In reality,the achievement of academic study is too weak to be systematical,Moreover,their researchs do not combine the actual situation of our country to analyze pattern of the manifestation of our country's modern public sphere and the practical reference significance of the public sphere theory bound for our current reform.In this paper,the author will explore and analysis Public sphere theory from these aspects.The theory will be divided into two stages which are the Public sphere theory in early stage and the Public sphere theory existed in moral field.According to the book of Structural Transformation of the Public sphere,the public sphere theory explored the "bourgeois Public sphere " in early stage,from which it's easy to find that public sphere theory suffered from resistance.The book mentioned that,in the process of nationalization of society and socialization of the country,the bourgeois public sphere moved towards feudalization,which also brought the question that how did private will of society become all will of society.Facing the problem of universalism,Habermas put forward the theory of communication action to make a defense,from which it can be said that this theory not only criticized the tool rational thought but lay a fundamental basis of public domain thought.Since then,Habermas proposed the "theory of discussion" which changed a situation of lacking a reasonable standard of Public sphere theory.Discussing concept set up a series of norms for the both sides in communication action to make a step to guarantee the successful process of it,and to contribute to publicity.Finally,the paper discusses the practical significance of the Public sphere theory to Chinese society.
