A Study On The Interruption In TV Talk Shows

The interruption is a common discourse phenomenon in daily conversation.At present,the research of interruption in the television programs is not enough deep from the linguistic point of view,and few researchers of interruption are found in the multi-party talk show.Interruption is often made between communicative subjects in television programs,interruptions are more common in the talk show in which three parties are involved.In the process of watching the TV talk shows in a long time,the author finds out the interruption occurs frequently in the Jinxing Talk Show,which has a high audience rating,and the situation of interruption between the hostess,guests and the assistant is also quite complex.This thesis,with the conversation analysis theory as the theoretical guidance,refers to related research results of the interruption phenomenon,explores the interruptions between the three communication subjects in the Jinxing Talk Show from the various macro-aspects and micro-linguistic materials.The thesis mainly chooses 20 types of Jinxing Talk Show to analyze the type,distribution and pragmatic characteristics of the interruption phenomenon,tries to establish a comprehensive research model for the interruption in TV talk show,which will be expected to improve the description of the conversation structure and to provide some theoretical guidance and practical reference for related language practice.By analyzing a large number of real corpus,the author finds out that the interruption in TV talk show can be classified from the perspective of the role relationship,the function of interruption,the mode of interruption and the position of the interruption,and there is a certain relationship between each other.The thesis statistics data and analyzes the interruption in the Jinxing Talk Show in detail from the four macroscopic angles,and digs into the relationship between these four.After researching and analyzing,the thesis concludes that the use of interruption in TV talk shows is restricted by three contextual factors: context,context of situation and cognitive context,and discusses the application of interruption to the cooperative principle and politeness principle.The thesis finds out that the interruption of hosts should use some strategies,when and how to interrupt is the key.Based on micro-linguistic materials,this thesis puts forward appropriate and effective strategies for hosts to interrupt from two aspects,namely,the timing of interruption and the skills of interruption.The former including find the right opportunity and location to interrupt;the latter including directly to interrupt when necessary,fast and efficient,the use of interruptive markup,to reduce the sense of abruptness,the use of evaluative discourse,to achieve a natural transition.At last,the author makes a comparison about interruptions of the hostess to guests between Jinxing Talk Show and Dating with Luyu,and summarizes the characteristics and defects of Jinxing's use of verbal interruption,generalizes the revelation for TV talk show hosts and hostesses.
