A Study On The Marking Function And Selectivity Of "Ge" In "Vge(?)VP"

The common structure of modern Chinese "Vge(?)VP" has the meaning of event,change and subjective high-degree.The meaning of the structure itself makes a request for the choice of its constituent elements or its external environment.Meanwhile,its external subject reflects the meaning of the structure.Firstly,there is a semantic restriction on the verbs which appear on the“V”position.Meanwhile,the verbs that can enter into this pattern have semantic features,such as [+ causality] [+ action] [+ autonomy].Secondly,the “VP” position is mostly the monosyllabic nature adjectives,state adjectives or concise predicate phrases.The adjectives have their own meanings of change and description.In the ideal context,they can freely act as the result or action of the event.So the members of the class is subject to the structural subjective degree of meaning.Mostly,“VP”itself is semantics or super-expected results,reflecting the heterogeneous type of subjective structure the "Vge(?)VP" contains the constituent elements “VP”.There is also an interaction between structure and discourse.Firstly,the "Vge(?)VP" which has the bounded meaning matches the contingent and natural event,and excludes the activity event.Secondly,the form has two semantic sequences of pattern including the sequences "subjective small quantity-subjective great quantity" and "subjective expectation quantity-actual quantity",which embodies the formation mechanism of the subjective quantity pattern "Vge(?)VP"(one is formed by the proportion of contrasting subjective small quantity;formed by the proportion of psychological expectations;The third is the exaggeration of their own semantics inthis formation)Thirdly,the result and subjective evaluation of the meaning of "Vge(?)VP" depends on the fact that the foundation does not appear in the doubt and the question of truth.This paper discusses the selectivity of the variable in "Vge(?)VP".There are heterogeneous linguistic phenomena in the selectivity of "Vge(?)VP",such as the fact that unbounded verbs sometimes can appear on the V position and non-causative verbs,involuntary verbs or small components can appear on the VP position.After appearing in the structure,these semantics and functionally mismatched components is suppressed by the whole structure and change its own meanings and functional expansion in order to follow the overall meaning of the structure and complete the structure of justice and harmony.
