The Study Of The Relationship Between The Structure And The Meaning Of Oracle Bones Located In East Of Huayuanzhuang In Yin Ruins

In autumn of1991,1whole oracle bone pit came out in Anyang, Henan Province. It is named by H3Huadong Oracle Bone because its location is near east of Huayuanzhuang. Chinese Academy of Social Sciences published a book called Oracle Bones Located in East of Huayuanzhuang in Yin Ruins through study and clear up for many years and published all those oracle references. It catches highly attention in the academic section as the latest found oracle references.This paper takes Huadong Oracle as the study target, systematically sorting characters and deeply study their forms and meanings by4chapters. Chapter I give examples of characters whose radicals and meanings covering body, animal, botany and nature. Chapter II give examples of characters whose radical and meanings covering tool and sexagenary cycle and others category. Totally there are136radicals in these2chapters with brief demonstrations on their forms. Chapter III demonstrates meanings of the Huadong Oracles in Oracle bone inscriptions. The writer make analysis on those characters to accomplish routing of original meaning, derived meaning, borrowed meaning and unspecified meaning form of the characters. All those have been enclosed as appendix. Chapter IV focus on study on relations between the form and its meaning for oracles based on analysis of form changes and demonstration of form and meanings of Huadong Oracles and get conclusions finally.
