Although China's comprehensive national strength has gradually increased, the influence of Chinese is still very limited and China's national language capacity is in dire need of improvement.International Organizations provide an important platform for improving language influence. It is of strategic importance to enhance the roles of Chinese use. However, studies on this issue are rare and the factors behind the roles of Chinese in international organizations remain unclear.Based on the Language Management Theory(LMT),this dissertation proposes an analyzing framework.Through interviews and data analysis, the reasons behind the roles of Chinese use in international organizations were discovered and a model to analyze language status in international organizations was developed. This dissertation also provides suggestions to enhance the international status of Chinese and propel the global promotion of it.Through the interviews of some international organizations such as the SCO and the UNFPA,this study finds out five key factors behind Chinese roles in international organizations,i.e.(1)personal attitudes towards Chinese;(2)the number of the staff using Chinese;(3)individual competence of Chinese;(4)discursive power;(5)interest game. The former three factors influence the actual use of language, while the latter two affect the language police making. These two groups of factors interact with each other. In order to increase Chinese use,we propose the following suggestions:(1)enhance the sense of language confidence and sovereignty;(2)make more Chinese work in international organizations;(3)promote Chinese globally;(4)enhance the discursive power. This study tries to combine LMT with the study of language policy in international organizations creatively.Interviews are used and a new analysis model is proposed.Five factors being included, this model emphasizes the interplay between simple and organized management and their respective effects on language policy and actual language use.Suggestions and solutions are proposed to increase Chinese use. This study is beneficial to the enhancement of China's language capacity and the international influence of Chinese.
