The Genetic Research Of The Dummy Verb "Jinxing" And "Jiayi"

The Dummy verb is a kind of verbs that does not represent the meaning of real action.In the past,the researches on the Dummy verb mainly focus on the synchronic description.As to how these words evolute from the general verbs to the Dummy verb,including the evolution process and the causes,the researches are obviously lagging behind.To implement some omissions and amend errors,adopting CNKI full-text retrieval,this paper use the collected historical data to carry out diachronic investigation of two typical members of modern Chinese Dummy verb:"Jinxing" and"Jiayi",so as to reveal how they evolved from the general verb to the Dummy verb.The thesis consists of five chapters.The first chapter of this paper,review the Dummy verb research courses from the overall study and case study.On the basis of pointing out deficiencies,describes the research content and the expected objectives.At the same time,give necessary explanation to the corpus sources,research ideas,methods of operation and so on.In the second chapter,firstly,we use the historical data to demonstrate the evolution process of "Jinxing".Pointed out:at first(before 1920),"Jinxing" belongs to the intransitive verb,express object displacement;later(1920 to 1930)the word derived from" be engaged in",and produced the usage as transitive verb;later(after 1930),In the case of using as a transitive verb,has Virtual meaning,and translate from general verb to Dummy verb.Then,make a more comprehensive study of embryology to the causes of the evolution(Why is it only used as an intransitive verb,and later with his transitive verb usage,and then from the general verb into the Dummy verb)from the perspective of the meaning of "Jinxing",grammatical distribution,pragmatic background,social needs,etc.In the third chapter,firstly,we use the historical data to demonstrate the evolution process of "Jiayi" It is pointed out that:"Jiayi" originally belongs to the trans-layered structure,after the role of Lexicalization evolution as transitive verb,which means "plus" to "exert".At first,(1920?)the object that appears behind the word is nominal,and later(after 1920)with the gradual solidification of "jia" and"yi",then the object appears not only the well-known part but also the predicate,Later(after 1930)the object is almost all of the predicate.At this point,the meaning of"Jiayi" completely empty and went through the whole process of the transformation to Dummy verb.After completing the above description,the article gives a full range of study on the reason of "jiayi"(evolution from trans-layered structure to the general verb and then to Dummy verb)from the internal composition,structure,syntax distribution,the perspective of social background and pragmatic and feet combination rule.In the fourth chapter,the author makes a comparative study of the process of"Jinxing" and "Jiayi".On the basis of comparing the similarities and differences,the author summarizes the causes and development rules of the Chinese Dummy verbs.The fifth chapter of this paper,Inventory the work done in this paper,affirm the academic significance of this article objectively,frank description of this article and regret,report the author for the future of this subject.
