Chopin is one of most influential pianist and composer in the history,who is also representative for the 19th century European romantic music.Chopin 's Piano Sonata No.2 In B Flat Minor is one of his famous masterpieces,which was much different from the gorgeous and beautiful style of his music creation before then.This sonata,with four traditional movements and rigorous regular format,broke the traditional classic sonata style which was followed as before.The third movement Funeral March is the most important part of the sonata.By the comparing and illustrating in the article,it is analyzed the structure characteristics of the second piano sonata.There are three chapters in this article to give the expositions about Piano Sonata No.2 In B Flat Minor.In the 1st chapter,it is mainly about the composing background and characteristics.For the 2nd chapter,it is discussed about the musical form for every movement.In the third chapter,execution research has been carried out about the connection in the middle part of the first movement,playing strength during the second movement,musicality handling of the third movement and pedals application in the playing.In the last,understanding and method are proposed about the sonata for some of the playing difficulties,music style handling issues and so on.
