Assessing the status of individual demand for mental health services is the basis of targeted action of "cherishing left-behind",and increasing the effectiveness of mental health education and services.Based on the dual-function mode for social adaptation,this study developed the left-behind children’s mental health service needs questionnaire,investigated the overall status of the left-behind children’s mental health service needs through empirical research,and then designed a series of psychological intervention activity curriculum.The results showed that:(1)The mental health service demand questionnaire is consists of two sub-questionnaires– the developmental demand questionnaire and the corrective demand questionnaire,34 items included.The reliability of the developmental demand questionnaire’s each dimensions are 0.71、0.75、0.64、0.60 corresponding to positive coping,prosocial tendencies,self-esteem,work-efficiency and the total questionnaire 0.85.The reliability of the corrective demand questionnaire’s each dimensions are 0.890、0.837、0.799、0.785 corresponding to irregularities,self disturb,social withdrawal,interpersonal alienation,and the total questionnaire0.935.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that χ2/ df = 3.77,RMSEA =0.05,CFI =0.92,AGFI =0.94 for the developmental demand questionnaire;and χ2/ df=3.35,RMSEA = 0.05,CFI =0.93,AGFI =0.93 for the corrective demand questionnaire.(2)Different types of children have no significant differences in negative and positive adaptation,nor specific dimensions,in which left-behind children scored higher than city ordinary children and normal children in the countryside.(2)Different types of children have significant differences in developmental needs and corrective needs,in which city ordinary children scored higher than left-behind children and normal children in the countryside.(3)different types of children have no significant differences in negative and positive adaptation,nor specific dimensions,in which left-behind children scored higher than city ordinary children and normal children in the countryside.(4)There has no significant gender difference in left-behind children’ mental health services.(5)There have significant grade differences in left-behind children’ prosocial tendencies and self-affirmation,in which primary school and junior high school left-behind children scored higher than senior high school left-behind children;there have significant gradedifferences in left-behind children’ illegal behavior,social withdrawal,Interpersonal withdrawal and even all the corrective need scores.Their corrective needs gradually increase with the increase of grade.(6)Poor economic conditions,serious family atmosphere,middle school culture level of parents and the positive adaption can predict individual’s developmental needs;general economic conditions,the types of rural ordinary children and left-behind children,and negative adaptation can predict individual’s corrective needs.(7)The revised Beliefs About Psychological Services questionnaire is composed of positive dimension and negative dimension with satisfactory reliability and validity.(8)The beliefs about psychological services is correlated significantly with positive adaptation,negative adaptation,developmental needs and corrective needs.(9)The beliefs about psychological services and positive adaptation can predict developmental needs,but has no moderating effect;negative adaptation can predict corrective needs,and the beliefs about psychological services moderate the negative adaptation and corrective needs.
