A Study On The Han Shan's Poetry And Evolution Of The Legendary Story Of Han Shan And Shi De

As the symbolic work of vernacular poetry in Tang Dynasty,the Collection of Han Shan's poems was isolated by the traditional literature for its vulgar linguistic features.However,it was widely spread among Buddhist temples and folk classes because of its poems aiming to advertise Buddhism and enlighten people,which were favored by monks and laboring people.Boasted abundant Buddhism,most parts of Han Shan's poems was written by vernacular at that time,which make them difficult to be understood by our readers.While the Notes on Han Shan's poems made by Xiang Chu,a famous specialist who studies Dunhuang culture,has properly dealt with this problem.Based on his profound learning of philology and literature study,Xiang Chu managed to give concrete notes from the both two sides,provided convenience for readers' comprehension and offered rich reference materials for researchers.During the process of spreading,the contents of Han Shan's poems has been changed,leading to a quite different version compared with the original work.Meanwhile,there exists contradiction as well as conflict relating to Confucianism,Daoism and Buddhism,to which the educational circle still fails to give an answer.Besides,Han Shan was known for his poems and also the legends related to him,which,together with himself,were called ‘Gods of He-He'.The writer has discussed the Notes on Han Shan's poems,figuring out its linguistic features and deficiencies.Then through the linguistic analysis and comparation of literatures,the writer tried to restore the original characteristics of the work and find out existed contractions and conflicts.Besides,the writer attached importance to analyze Han Shan,image of Shi De,the reason relating to the development of the legend with the help of documents and figure out overall situation of the legend,which aims to provide assistance and reference for related researchers as well as the study of Han Shan.
