A Report On 2014 China's Mobile Game Compatibility Testing White Paper

The Chinese game market occupies a large portion in the world and will be worth$24.4 billion in the following year.Mobile game is by far the biggest segment in China,with revenues of $13.8 billion.2014 experienced an adjustment in mobile game industry in China.With the emerging of so many new phone producers,the amount of new devices with the newest versions of Google Android has become a major concern.Meanwhile,mobile game compatibility problems,resulting in customer loss for a long time,have become a key assessment criteria for game producers with the saturation of market competition and diversification of mobile terminals.On such an occasion,2014 China's Mobile Game Compatibility Testing White Paper(hereinafter referred to as White Paper)was finished in 2014 by TestBird(the largest mobile functional and cloud testing group in the world).In the course of this project,the author employs Skopos Theory to address quite a few problems encountered in the translation,which are involved in reduplication,short sentences and so on.Moreover,the author adopts certain translation strategy,literal translation and translation strategies such as reformulation and combination based on Skopos Theory with the purpose to deal with these problems easily.Having completed this project,the author realizes that as a style with specific structure and characteristic,this kind of translation is more professional and highly demanded in the way of translating official government documents.Thus,it is important to employ amplification technique in the course of mobile game translation in order to make sure the target readers can accept the Target Text more easily.Furthermore,the translator must be equipped with certain knowledge of mobile game testing in case of causing some trouble to game developers with unprofessional translation.Moreover,the most obvious characteristic of this kind of project is that it is a tough nut to crack the charts in source text.Therefore,how to tackle and translate these charts is of great importance to accomplish this mobile game testing project.
