Application Of Skopos Theory To The Translation Of Sports Science Academic Paper

In recent years,the sports industry in our country has made rapid development.People's enthusiasm for sports has been on the rise.The exchange and cooperation of outstanding sports talent at home and abroad have promoted the international exchange of sports culture.In order to meet the needs of different understandings of international sports information,more and more scholars are paying attention to the research of sports science academic dissertations.In the era of globalization,sports science academic papers have shown a diversified development trend.Therefore,with international sports and cultural exchange,efforts to break the language and cultural barriers will effectively help with the exchange of sports information,and promote the international exchange and cooperation in sport.This article is a translation practice and the original text is,the History of Gaelic Football and the Gaelic Athletic Association,a sports science academic paper.The theme is related to the Gaelic football and its purpose is to explore the translation strategies of sports academic papers.Academic papers are different from ordinary texts.Their high specialism is the essence of the research of a certain field.It is also an important academic reference material for scholars in the same field.Therefore,when translating academic dissertations,it is necessary to express the content of the original text completely and accurately,as well as emphasize the readability and comprehensibility of the translation.Compared with other fields of translation,especially literary translation,the domestic sports academic papers are relatively backward in terms of quantity and quality of translation,and the main problem is the lack of a specific authoritative translation theory to guide their translation.In this report,the translator,guided by Skopos Theory,discusses the characteristics of academic paper and the corresponding strategies at the three levels of words,sentences and texts hoping to provide more feasible translation strategies to improve the academic quality of the translation.
