In April 2016,entrusted by Zhengzhou Transpub Translation Service Co.,Ltd,the translator accepted this translation project.The original text is a global research report made by Morgan Stanley on the current situation and development prospect of mobile payment.The research report is made up of nine chapters and the translator chooses Chapters 7-8,which mainly introduce what decisions Apple,Google,PayPal and other companies have made to catch the opportunity and what the future of mobile payment might be.As is known to all,with the development of human society,the ways of payment of commodity transaction have undergone great changes: in the first place it was barter,then in the following centuries face-to-face transaction with currency as an intermedium has been in practice,and in recent decades with the development of computer technology the transaction by using credit cards has been popular.Nowadays,with the rapid development of network and mobile communication technology,mobile payment has come into being.It overcomes the limitation of time and space and makes it possible for people to pay in mobile environment.Mobile payment is not only convenient for people's daily life,but also conducive to achieving a win-win industrial chain.Through analysis,the translator concludes that the original text is a typical financial text.Therefore,she chooses Reiss' text typology as the guiding theory for her translation.Reiss divides texts into informative text,expressive text,operational text,and multimedia text.Financial texts belong to informative ones,which are a kind of communicative texts requiring accuracy.The main task of a financial text is to transmit information accurately,that is,to convey information about the real world to readers in a precise way.The choosing of both language and style should give priority to this function.In the translation process,translators should accurately and completely reproduce the content of the original text and express it in the target language.The translation report is made up of four parts.The first part is a description of the task,including the source of the task,a brief introduction to the original text and the significance of the project.In the second part,the translator explains the process of her translation,including preparing the translation tools and guiding translation theory,establishing the nomen clature,and carrying out the translation practice.The third part is case analysis,which is the body part of the whole report.By analyzing the translation of some typical sentences and the polishing of the translation,the translator illustrates the skills she has applied in the process of translating: diction,conversion,amplification,division and so on.The last part is a summary of the translation practice,in which the translator sums up what she has learned from the translating experience and how it inspires her future work.By carrying out the translation project and writing the translation report,the translator intends to provide some reference for the translation of financial texts in the future.And she also hopes that domestic mobile payment can develop and make progress by reading through the translated version of Morgan Stanley Blue Paper on Mobile Payment.
