The Adaptation Study Of Once Upon A Time Of New Historicism

With the change of the era,the narrative style of the classical fairy tale has been gradually neglected,and the black fairy tale enters the public view.American Broadcasting Company began to produce adventure science fiction series Once Upon a Time in 2011,which is a subversion of childhood memories of the black fairy tale.The whole story is set on the basis of "fairy tales are real".It mainly tells the evil queen used black magic magical to transmit fairy tale characters to modern society because of revenge,and they all have lost the memory,living in a small town called Storybook.In this town,time ceases to exist.This paper is aimed to discuss the adaptation of Once Upon a Time with the new historicism.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is an introduction.In the second part,it analysis the foundation of adaptation,including the spread of fairy tales around the world,Disney has created a large number of classic fairy tale image,and the development of "black fairy tale".The third part analyzes the strategy of adaptation,specifically from the theme of the plot changes,space-time setting,additions and deletions,characters of four aspects.The fourth part discusses the characteristics of adaptation.First,its adaptation overturns the classic and tries to dig the new truth.Secondly,the drama pays great attention to the edge and the accident,and tries to return to the historical stage.Finally,the realistic society impinges on the textual construction all the time.In the last part of the paper,main findings are summarized and some faults are pointed out.The film and TV adaptations of fairy tales have been born for a long time,and most of them are based on the adaptation of a single fairy tale.The adaptation of Once Upon a Time is not based on a fairy tale or some fairy tales created by a writer,but fairy tales from all over the world.It's a new try for the film and TV adaptation of fairy tale.To interpret the adaptation of Once Upon a Time with the new historicism is a complement to the study of the adaptation of fairy tales.
