Many elements have been influenced on the effect of foreign students' Chinese learning. The Chinese learning, especially Chinese character learning has obvious differences between students of Chinese character circle and those who comes from non-Chinese circle. Based on predecessors' research and take the students for preparatory course of CICE,CCNU for example, this paper is attempted to do some analysis about Chinese characters' learning of those who are from non-Chinese circle. Concretely speaking, the first step is analysis the errors in natural data such as the students'homework and dictations, then trying to find the reasons and make a conclusion.According to this, some Chinese character teaching and learning suggestions will be given so that they can benefit for the students' learning effect and efficiency.This paper is divided into six chapters. The first part is an introduction, mainly consists the origin of the research,the aims and meaning of the research;the literature review and the methods of this article; chapter two is the background of research on teaching and learning strategy, a brief summary of preparatory education for international students in China,especially the teaching mood and methods of CICE,CCNU;chapter three is error analysis of the data mentioned above, including the data source,the classification,the statistics and the conclusion of the Chinese characters' error. After that,some possible reasons and explanations about the errors will be given.The reasons will be departed to three parts: the psychological reason and the reason both from the teachers, perspective and the students'. Based on the analysis above,chapter four is the Chinese characters' teaching strategy:to improve the students' interest on Chinese characters; to show the characters properly and to explain them effectively so that the students can deal with different error types;to introduce some cultural information related to the characters. Combine with practical psychological theories, chapter five is some character learning suggestions on students'perspective.It mainly stress that the students for preparatory course must take the features of Chinese Character,the difference of themselves and the learning environment into consideration. The last part is the conclusion of this article.
