The Effects Of Background Music On English Reading Of Students Majoring In Music

In the daily life,space music is everywhere.Listening to music can be a way to release the pressure of study for the students and it can be the students' interests,and it also can become the students' English reading partners.But many studies have shown that background of music affect the reading abilities of students majoring in music more or less.Since the background music affects non-music major students reading abilities,and is also affect the music reading abilities of students majoring in music?This paper will study on whether the background music can influence music professional students'English reading comprehension,which is based on psychology of music education.This paper will start with an overview of the background music,the speed and volume of reading comprehension,then review the previous research results and study domestic universities' music professional students.It includes of five experiments.Experiment 1:The influence of no background music on English reading comprehension.This part will inspect the accuracy of music professional college students do English reading comprehension on the promise of no music background.Experiment 2:Joining the interference of background music.It's an experiment to discuss the influence of different volume of classical music on English reading experiment.It will confirm the volume of the music whether influence the music professional college students' reading comprehension ability or not.Experiment 3:The influence of different speeds of classical music on English reading comprehension.This experiment will discuss the impact on music professional college students' reading comprehension ability produced by different speed(fast or slow)of background music.The experiments 4 and 5 are designed on the base of the experiment 2 and experiment 3.They are the experiments that study the effect of different volume and speed of pop music and rock music on English reading comprehension.The results showed that the volume and speed of the classical music haven't obviously effect on music college students' English reading comprehension under the condition of classical music;The second,Under the condition of rock and roll music,the influence of the speed of rock and roll music is not big on the English reading comprehension ability,the influence of the volume is bigger.In addition,In the background music,the speed of the music hasn't obviously effect on the students'English reading comprehension of different professional direction and different gender.The volume of the music influence the students significantly of different professional direction and different gender.The effect of the types's effects on different professional direction and different gender effect are significant.
