From the beginning of the modernization of Chinese society in the 20 th century to the beginning of the 21 st century,China’s economic development potential has been greatly released.It has changed the social form at a great stride speed,from agricultural society to industrial society,from industrial From the society to the information society,Chinese society is undergoing tremendous changes.In Chinese cities,tens of thousands of construction projects are started every day,and ubiquitous demolition work is carried out in streets and alleys everywhere.It is worth noting that the rapid expansion of modern cities has led to the traditional marginalization of traditional rural tribes,and the environmental space outside the village has been devoured step by step.The collective memory of the once proud rural civilization evaporates a little in the wave of modernization.In a modern society marked by speed and oblivion,memories seem precious,and collective memory condenses a generation’s experience of past history.Whether it is its documentary significance or historical summary significance,it is worth leaving it to future generations.An invaluable spiritual wealth for the review of ancestors’ lives and production.Because of its non-fiction,documentaries have become an important form of image presentation for collective memory.Researching documentary from the perspective of memory is not only a breakthrough in a new perspective,but also has an attempt to use images to present collective memory and talk to the past,so as to link the future significance.The development of documentary is closely intertwined with the development of media.The media greatly promotes and broadens the development space of documentary.The iterative update of the artistic expression of documentary also provides diversified choices for the media presentation style of video content.This article takes the personal graduation work "Bian Yu" as the research objectand the collective memory as the perspective of research.It mainly explains how the documentary film constructs the villagers’ collective memory and its expression and appearance in the documentary.This article mainly analyzes the collective memory presented in the documentary from three aspects: the theoretical interpretation of collective memory and the historical combing of the development of collective memory in documentary images,the process and approach of collective memory in documentary images,and collective memory in documentary images.Based on the aesthetic expression characteristics of the media and the strategic thinking on the protection of rural collective memory based on the documentary practice.
