With the rapid development of globalization and science technology, the status of popular science has been raised to a new level. So the object of this research report is children's popular science.Children are the future of the world, therefore the significance of children's popular science is beyond any words in social development. With the aim of promoting its communication function, the research report mainly focuses on finding a way about how to do E-C translation of it.During the translation work, the author has faced two problems:1.how to maintain the child-likeness and objectiveness in the translation version.2.how to make sure the target readers have the same reading pleasure as the original readers do.In order to solve these two problems, the author has conducted the thorough research, with the help of adaption and selection translation method,on ways of translating words and sentences from linguistic dimension, culture dimension and communicative dimension. After the translation work, the author found the key point of translating children's popular science is combining two characteristics of children's text together:child-likeness&objectiveness.Only in this way, could the translation version be readable as well as achieve the goal of disseminating scientific knowledge to children.Based on the truth that the present research on E-C translation of children's popular science is still on superficial level and on the truth that adaption&selection translation method is the new theory, this research report has got two innovations:object of the research and guiding theory.Under the guidance of these innovation points, the author hopes this research report could offer more assistance to the translation practice and systematic research on children's popular science in the future.
