China has a long history of tomb murals and rich relics.As a motif of the ancient Chinese society(Song dynasty),it is mainly a long-term superstructure ideology of feudal society.Under the multiple environmental background such as Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism religious ideology,also Cheng Zhu Neo-Confucianism and the special political history of the Song Dynasty,"filial piety" came out.It not only reproduces the characteristics of its cultural era directly,but also indirectly reveal the "hollow" phenomenon in social life of the Song Dynasty is still relatively lack of private morality and public morality.Large numbers of Song tomb murals in Luoyang which is diversity in subject and variety,is a typical representative of the Song Dynasty funeral culture.This paper mainly focuses on the study of the filial piety chart of the Song Dynasty murals in Luoyang area.Through the methodologies of "archeology typology","image style" and "cultural geography",combined with the geographical distribution,image type,funeral culture influence to analyze the researches of modem archaeological excavations about the Song Dynasty tomb murals.Based on previous research results on the tombs in Luoyang area of Song Dynasty,further study the image form and its funeral "filial piety" cultural.In addition,discuss the "social meanings","regional features" and "artistic features" in filial piety chart and analyze the meanings of the images deeply.From real image material,abstract to work out social ideology and funeral ideas of middle class at that time.Furthermore,combining with the historical background,human environment,religious beliefs,through the contrasting research methods to find out the reason why the filial piety theme in Tomb mural is popular in Han,Wei Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties and re-pop during Northern Song Dynasty but through minority in Sui and Tang Dynasties.
