This paper aims to study mill's utilitarian rights and freedom theory.The theory of utilitarianism,which is represented by mill,is a shining star in the rich western ethics theory.In this paper,the author explains mill's theory of justice from the perspective of mill's Thoughts on rights and freedom.The first chapter is mainly about mill's utilitarianism.The mill is representative of classical utilitarianism,but also the pioneer of modern utilitarianism theory,research on Mill's utilitarian theory,has a unique value.The teacher is Bentham mill's utilitarianism theory,Bentham theory has reveal to the public when criticizing the thinker.This is because Bentham's utilitarian theory regards happiness as something that can be quantified by addition and subtraction,only in quantity,but not in quality.However,it is difficult to explain the important theoretical norms of justice,rights and freedom.It is such a situation,to create the conditions for the mill to create a utilitarian theory.Mill to Bentham's utilitarianism theory,mainly in two aspects,the first is to change the happiness theory of Bentham to the theory of happiness,expand the connotation of happiness.Second,it is no longer the utilitarian principle directly acts on the evaluation of behavior,but based on a certain moral principles for value evaluation.Through the integration of the theory of obligation,especially Kant's Thought on moral obligation,it makes a certain degree of consistency between the utilitarian theory of freedom and utilitarian principle.The second chapter focuses on Mill's theory of equality and its relationship with utilitarianism.In ethics,equality is an important category of value,equal right is the foundation of personal happiness,and put forward the basic status of moral rights.As a conservative utilitarian,to distinguish between mill of moral and non moral field,when the different behaviors in the areas of conflict,the first is evaluated by utilitarian moral requirements,when cannot solve the conflict before resorting to utilitarianism principle,this is a mill right and utility unique idea.The third chapter discusses the relationship between freedom of thought and freedom and utility.Mill's principle of freedom is the pursuit of their own interests in accordance with their own path,but does not interfere with the interests of others,and the freedom of the legitimacy of the theory.The principle of non injury is mill's division of the field of freedom,which is defined as the violation of the duty of duty,which makes the freedom and the right theory reach a certain degree of consistency.Both the extension of the connotation of happiness,let freedom become part of happiness,but also give free purpose value,making the aim itself free.In the end,the author briefly comments on the theoretical value and the influence of later generations.He will free the theory on the modified utilitarianism theory,an important category of utilitarianism value such as freedom and equality and conflict theory of utilitarianism inherent to reconcile freedom in the center of the utilitarian theory of happiness,on the basis of the value of the important categories of consistent.
