Mill fully developed the quantitative theory of happiness of Jeremy Bentham,based on the counter Bentham happiness quantification and computerized,"pigs" and"fool" of low-level happiness, and then emphasizes the spiritual happiness thanmaterial happiness. Mill’s real purpose is to make public personality and freedom,more importance to the all-round development of individuals, subjectivity was trulyawakening and made expansion.Cultivation of the person’s subjectivity cannot leave the social customs in the theenvironment. Social customs are always trying to suppress the development of humansubjectivity. Social customs and data accumulation of experience is in the society,including the precious material, but does not mean that everyone should becompletely in accordance with the practice and experience. Each individual accordingto their own situation and personality, choose corresponding experience, combinedwith their own efforts, will be the most suitable for their own way. Even if the way isnot the best, but it is also worthy of desire, because it is the result of individualchoice.Only in the circumstance of justice,everybody can live in peace with each otherand leave enough space to develop their personality.On the contrary, the subjectivityof the strong binding of the justice of personal feelings reveals laid a strongguarantee.Muller, besides considering the design of the government is also keen toperson’s inner cultivation way to complete.In the process of the practice of virtue man’s subjectivity got perfect. More thickvirtue is, more upright subjectivity is. Genius group that a small group of subjectivitythan most other people standing, consistently following the virtue. Virtue is not onlyas a means of their pursuit of happiness, but also become an important part of theirhappiness. Virtue as the first good, it can bring people happiness, but for most people.Their moral will is weak, the lack of subjectivity, objectively damage principle of themaximization of social welfare. Only by making more widespread public aware virtuecan bring happiness, and the lack of virtue is painful, to make everyone really yearnfor virtue.
