The Marriage of Figaro, composed in 1778,is the second of the Figaro Trilogy. The Marriage of Figaro,or The Mad Day,based on the stage comedy of the same name by Pierre Beaumarchais,is the first mature comic opera of Mozart. In the opera, the stupid and philandering Count Almaviva stands in sharp contrast to Figaro, who is smart and intelligent. As the representative of evil figures in the opera, aristocrats that are represented by Count Almaviva are portrayed as hypocritical and lecherous characters different from the glorious images in former days. The thesis conducted a comprehensive analysis of the character Count Almaviva from three aspects, namely, the background, plot and central idea of the opera, the musical image of the character Count Almaviva and the singing experience of the character.Through an intensive analysis of the character, the thesis came to the conclusion that the core idea of the opera The Marriage of Figaro is anti-feudalism.
