| Border on Gan dialect region and Hakka community,Suichuan dialect consists of Gan dialect in Ji'an,Hakka in South Jiangxi and Hokkienese in West Fujian.As a branch of Gan dialect,there are abundant agricultural vocabulary in Suichuan dialect,however,it has not received enough attention from the academic area,so it is worthy of extensive and in-depth research.This thesis takes agricultural vocabulary in the dialect of Quanjiang Township,Suichuan County,Jianxi Province as a the study object,based on the methodology of documenting linguistics and according to the semantic field to give a detail descript:ion of its agriculture vocabulary and agricultural idioms.with the hope to reveal the morphology and word-formation of the agricultural vocabulary,and the culural connotation of the agricultural vocabulary.Analysis reveals that the agricultural vocabulary can be divided into words of farming,words of farming implements and the words of corps.From the perspective of word-formation Suichuan dialect displays two main processes:affixation and compounding.From the syntactical and morphological point of view,it consists of five types:head-modifier compound,subject-predicate compound.predicate-object compound,predicate-complement compound and coordinate compound.From the perspective of semantic relations and the process of the formation of new words.six methods of coinage are summed up as bowwow method.explanation.analogy.dissyllable methocd,loan words from Mandarin and combination of various methods.The agricultural vcocabulary in Suichuan dialect contains rich historical and cultural information,records the varieties.values and planting history of the crops in the south Jiangxi Proxvince,especially the introduction of exotic crops,some specific crop species within Suichuan and the medicinal value of some crops.Besides,there are a lot of agricultural idioms in Suichuan dialect which illuminates the wisdom of Suichuan people to make use of the climate to develop agriculture. |
