Zhuang Zi School's Criticism Of The Confucian Ethical Code And Its Modern Enlightenment

During the Spring and Autumn Period,conflicts between different lords have intensified the collision and integration of all kinds of idea of the era,thus Taoism came along under this period.Lead by Laozi and Zhuangzi,Taoism had brought forward a new element of idea that joins The Hundred Schools of Thought of that age.This paper first focuses on the book “Zhuangzi”,this gives us some insights into the background,origin and content of Zhuangzi and criticism.Then the essay comes to the conclusion that school of Zhuangzi upholds the idea of natural inaction and the part that's useful for personal and social development should be extracted and proposed.The research of this paper divides into four parts:The first part of the paper focuses on the introduction.It introduces the background,purpose of the subject,and also the status,content,method and expected result of the research.And the possible innovation has also been analyzed.The second part delves into the discussion of origin and background of the school of Zhuangzi.It points out the idea that Zhuangzi thought mainly inherited in Taoist Laozi thought.There are two elements in the background part,the first is the social element.Combines with the social environment,the reason why natural inaction is actively proposed by the Confucian ethical Code is brought forward.And the other is the element of thought,which focuses on the research of the Confucian ethical Code lead by Confucius and Mencius.The third part discusses the content of the Confucian ethical code criticism by the school of Zhuangzi.The discussion of human nature,the idea that ethical codes becomes the tool of ruling class and the ideal world brought forward by Zhuangzi are covered in this part.At last,this paper combines the thought of freedom,inaction mentioned in“Zhuangzi” and the personal cultivation of contemporary society,ideological and political education,harmonious society from the modern age.Then its enlightenment is revealed and thus granting a deeper reflection to “natural inaction”by Taoism.
