In the Pre-Qin Period,Confucius put forward the idea of "ZhengMing" to support the feudal code of ethics.Lao-Zhuang believed that governing the country should be "inaction" and obedient to nature.During the Western Han and Eastern Han Dynasties,Dong Zhongshu put forward the idea of "Yi Ming Wei Jiao" to govern the country and locate by“Ming”,while Liu An and Wang Chong used the idea of "calm and content himself of nature" to oppose Confucianism.During the the Three-Kingdoms Period of Cao and Wei,the thought of the Confucian ethical code and nature became the core of the debate,and they developed dialectically.Ruan Ji's views on the relationship between the Confucian ethical code and nature have changed dramatically.He advocated the combination of the Confucian ethical code and nature in the early stage,while in the later stage,he thought that the Confucian ethical code was opposite to nature.In his earlier "Music theory",he believed that the essence of music was "harmony".Musical instrument had the social function of moral enlightenment.At the same time,music could make people reach a happy and peaceful spiritual realm.The "Yi" in "Tongyi theory" represents the order of law and discipline rite,and maintains feudal code of ethics according to the order.His natural thought holds that nature is the noumenon,vitality is the substance that constitutes nature,nature is harmonious,and all things are one.Ruan Ji regards spiritual freedom as realm,which in his view is also nature.The Confucian ethical code should be based on nature,build and develop on it,and combine nature with itself.After the Gaoping Mausoleum Incident,Ruan Ji cherished an undying hatred for the hypocritical Confucian ethical code.He took a turning point in the relationship between Confucian ethical code and nature and criticized Confucian ethical code in the way of nature.He expressed his abhorrence for the Confucian ethical code by criticizing the "Scholars in law and discipline rite".He often drank heavily,kept mouth shut,and acted irreverently.In theory,he constructed an ideal society with the idea of "no monarch and no government".In his philosophy of life,he absorbed Zhuang Zhou's thought of " Qi Wu" and " Peripateticism".First of all,we should transcend the bondage of secularity,reach the level of indulgence and nature,rise to the free and unfettered realm,and form the ideal personality of "Da Ren Xian Sheng".Ruan Ji's broad-minded and ambitious spiritual character and unruly image have profound and lasting influence on later generations.His thought of nature is of great significance to our modern people's restoring the natural temperament.
