Study On The Chapter Title Of Jin Ping Mei Ci Hua

The chapter title is one of the iconic features in ancient Chinese chapter novels.It was born inside the narrative literature.It’s not only the external form of the novels,but also as the contents of the chapter novels,and that plays an important role in the narrative of the novel.The novel involves complex events and many characters,places,but which one can get the favor of the author and is placed in the chapter titles,as well as what kinds of functions they play when they placed in the chapter titles,that also embody the author’s artistic conception of the whole work.In this paper,Jin Ping Mei Ci Hua which was written in the sixteenth century is the study object.It’s mainly divided into three aspects to conduct a comprehensive and detailed study of this novel’s Chapter titles,such as the relationship between the chapter titles and many events in this chapter,the setting of the characters and places in the chapter titles,and so on.The purpose is to more in-depth understanding of the author’s narrative skills and creative intentions from the chapter titles that a novel system with Chinese characteristics.The whole paper consists of introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction is divided into two parts,the first is to clear the study object of this paper,and the second is to summarize the study status and the study content of this paper.The text is the main part of this paper,and divided into three chapters.The first chapter is about the chapter titles and events.The events are the basis of the plots,this chapter mainly talks about the relationship between the events contained in the chapter titles and the events described in the text,including the functions of the events in the chapter titles,mainly divided into two parts,the first part compares the events contained in the chapter titles with the events described in the text,to analyze the relationship between them;The second part analyzes the events contained in the chapter titles,to discuss its deep implication.It is not only has the role of deepening the exhortation purpose,but also highlights the narrative effect of the work to a certain extent.The second chapter is about the chapter titles and characters.Characters are the core of novels,this chapter talks about the setting of the characters and the literary functions.It’s mainly divided into two parts,the first part is a statistics about names and frequencies of the characters that mentioned in the chapter titles,It will be divided the characters mentioned in the chapter titles into three levels according to the ranking that the frequency of characters mentioned in the chapter titles;The second part is mainly analyze the unusual phenomenon about the frequency that characters mentioned in the chapter titles,such as Pang Chunmei,Meng Yulou and Wu Song,Wang Po;The third part is about the functions of the chapter titles that portrayed the characters.The third chapter is about the chapter titles and places.Places are where the plots take place,development and the characters’ activities.This chapter analyzes the setting and functions of the places,It’s mainly divided into two parts,the first part is the classification and statistics of the places mentioned in the chapter titles;The second part is mainly analyze the functions of the places mentioned in the chapter titles frequently,such as the garden,brothels,temples,dreams and so on.The conclusion part is about the main content of this paper and the significance of the study,as well as points out that the deficiencies of this paper.
