Huang Gongdu(1109-1156),also named Shi xian and titled Zhijiaweng,was from Putian,Xinghuajun(Putian of Fujian Province today).He was entitled to be the Number One scholar in 1138,the eighth year of Shaoxing under the domination of Emperor Gaozong of Song Dynasty.Though talented,Huang Gongdu had confronted with frustrations in career pursuit.His Collections of Zhijiaweng include 328 poems,3 pieces of fu,15 pieces of ci-poem,and 47 articles.Present study on Huang Gongdu mainly centers on his life experience and poetic style,with much more space for the collation and annotation of his poems and articles.This paper,centering on this part and then delivering a systematic analytical research,can be divided into two parts.Part one is a research on Huang Gongdu and his works,involving three chapters.Chapter one offers some general information of Huang Gongdu’s official career and companionship.The first section,based on his identity as a top-one candidate,argues that his top-one candidate identity is the result of issues including personal,family and area elements.The second section talks about his official career.Through his personal choices and political environment at that time,this thesis analyzes the reason of his being away from official career.Section three discusses his companionship,through which his personal characters and ambition to gain fame and official post can be viewed.Chapter Two presents the process of making Collections of Zhijiaweng and the research on its editions.Section one presents the time and process of the book by the exploration of xu,pa and tables of content.The second section distinguishes the difference among editions of different periods;chapter three explores the tables of content since Song Dynasty and modern published editions,talking about its circulation since it had been made into collection.Chapter three shows the research on his works.Section one is the research of his articles.Through the study on the content and artistic features of his articles,it can be seen that his works involve specific artistic style.Section two is the poetry study.By classification of his poetry in terms of theme,main content of his poetry and the artistic feature within,the thesis believes that his poetry bears the feature of smoothness and clearance.Section three is the research on his creation of ci-poems.A deep analysis is made to demonstrate the artistic features through assessments from previous records.Part Two is the collation and annotation part.This paper is based on the The Works of Song Dynasty of Li Zhiding’s Yi-Qiu House,with some reference to block-printed piece edited by Huang Chonghan of Ming Dynasty in the fifth year of Tianqi,Complete Library in Four Branches of Literature,Old Postscripts of Xu Shidong of Qing Dynasty,and Old Photoprinted Manuscripts of Rare Collections of Songji.
