In Western Sin Dynasty ,the parallel writing was in fashion for aperiod .Here ,while various styles were in literaryism , the poetries and writings ofShu Xi that represented the incidental literary were modesty and fresh .Thus ,suchwritings were considered have important value in the document .In Western SinDynasty .However, academic studies haven't done enough to sort out his works and todo research carefully and systematically. Hence, this thesis aims to make it up in thisaspect in order to provide some information for further study. The thesis consists of three parts: the first part is preface which introduces at firstin brief Shu Xi's background and life and his characters, and then gives a briefaccount of his major works, at last comments on the content and characters of hispoetry. The second part is the main body, which is collation and annotation of hisexisting poetry and prose. Based on both Yan Kejun and Lu Qinli's achievements ofcompiling and revising the works and the thorough examination of the ancient textssuch as histories and biographies, reference books with entries arranged in the form ofa dictionary or according to subjects, and his poetry and prose, the writer is trying tocompile the writings of Shu Xi that are not found in known books again. It is like that:to select and transcribe the early or comparatively complete text as the original oneagainst which other copies are checked. Meanwhile, the notes in it mainly concentrateon not only objects, decrecs, regulations and allusions, but also on difficult anduncommon words and expressions. As for those that are too difficult to be researchedand corrected, the writer just let them be. What the writer endeavor to do now is toprovide a reliable and practical sorting-out copy for readers and scholars to read andstudy Shu Xi's works. The third part is appendix, including the chronological table ofShu Xi's important historical events and the collection of appraisal on his poetry andprose. In the table, the writer has done necessary textual research on his life andevents according to the existing historical materials and Sun Chun's poetry and prose, trying to avoid irresponsible comments.
