A Grammartical Study Of Guigang Dialect

Guigang(贵港)dialect is affiliated to the Goulou(勾漏)subdialect.This paper mainly discusses notional words,function words,syntax and other problems of Guigang dialect.Based on the synchronic description,this Paper tries to compare with Mandarin and the other Cantonese,such as Pingnan(平南)dialect,Nanning(南宁)dialect,Yulin(玉林)dialect,Beiliu(北流)dialect,Guangzhou(广州)dialect and so on,strive to highlighted the uniqueness of Guigang dialect.The whole paper divided into six chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,mainly introduces the survey of Guigang,includes the history,geography,population composition and language overview,also reviewed the literature of grammar research in Guigang dialect and Cantonese,and explained the purpose and material source of the paper at last.The second chapter is the description of notional words of Guigang dialect,including nouns,verbs and adjectives,quantifiers and pronouns.The noun part involves reversible words,affixes,reduplication and the combination function of nouns,especially reversible words and the "er-suffixation(儿尾)","zai-suffixation(仔尾)".The adjective part mainly analyzes the reduplicative and embedded.ln the part of the verb,the verb divided into volitive auxiliary,the directional verb and the copula.Except the noun classifiers and verb classifiers,The part of measure words also analyzes the grammatical function of classifier.The analysis of personal pronouns,demonstrative pronouns and interrogative pronouns.The pronoun part includes the Personal pronouns,demonstrative pronouns and interrogative pronoun.The third chapter is the description of function words of Guigang dialect,including Auxiliary words,adverbs,conjunctions and prepositions.Auxiliary words are divided into eight categories,such as affirmative adverb,negative adverb,degree adverb,scope adverb and so on;The preposition is divided into twelve categories,such as:agentive,locative,source lattice,Path lattice,Adjoint lattice and so on.The Conjunctions can be divided into eleven categories,such as parallel relation,choice relation,turning relation and choice relation.The Auxiliary part mainly discusses the perfect aspect,experience aspect,progressive aspect,terminative aspect,past aspect and so on.The fourth chapter is the syntax of Guigang dialect,which contains the object word order and adverbial order,as well as four kinds of special sentences which contains the interrogative sentences,negative sentences,comparative sentences and disposal sentences.The fifth chapter is the description of characteristic words in Guigang dialect.This chapter aims to analyze the semantic features of words,such as "nong(侬)";"die(爹)","yang(样)","zhe(着)" and construct the semantic development of these words.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,summarize the grammar of Guigang dialect,so that we can provide more valuable language materials for Cantonese in the future.
